Michele and I are going up Sunday, spending Sunday night, and coming home Monday.

does Sunday and Monday count as a dirty weekend?

Good Lord, I hope so!

She talked me out of going with Priceline and selected our hotel based on its proximity to Smalls. . . .

We stayed on 34th St. Usually we stay on 32nd.

We need to find somewhere down that way for future trips. I am fed up with going back and forth from Koreatown every time.

DO you stay in one of the small Murray Hill hotels? 1910 buildings rstored to tolerability? Where goeth thee.

We're splurging on a Hampton Inn SoHo because of Hilton Honors points and my AARP / AAA discount

Most often, we've gone here:

but recently they have got a little pricey.

This time we went here:

...which I found through Booking.com at a slight discount.
Not so much a hotel as a two bdrm apartment for rent in an normal apt building - no contact with staff at all, just pick up the key from the doorman of the building.

Actually 2 double bedrooms and a foldout in the sitting room, so do-able for six, if a bit of a squash.

I like the sound of Hampton Inn Soho though...

the Hampton Inn Soho wanted $149, and with my AAA discount, it was $134 for CityView Nonsmoking King

If you went up with a bride and two little girlies and need two doubles, I suspect price same.

I just checked rates at the Hampton Inn -- very competitive. Definitely going there next time.

What's this "any weekend anywhere" rate they have? Sounds very interesting...

not sure about that "any weekend" thing -- I'll have to investigate.

Even though I hate all of the "member Clubs" for airlines and hotel chains, I've used Hilton Honors to stay free -- the points seemed to add up pretty quickly. And they guarantee that you can find the best available rate if you drill down through their site [they won't undersell by accepting Pricelines, etc. without putting that price up].

I think it's Hilton, Embassy Suites, Hampton, Doubletree -- a lotta hotel chains under the Hilton umbrella.
