I've started recording with my new Jazz Bass. But being me, I haven't done a control group [going through same preamp as I've recorded the Precision], instead choosing to send it through a different [tube] preamp. So I don't know about its sound. But I love to play it.
I just thought that I'd try to act like a musician.
Actually, I'm enjoying recording demos of my bad songs. They are fun.

I am much worse than Tom -- he is an incessant gear hound whoplays his instruments.
I wouldn't say you're worse than Tom.
